Using Battery: Using Six (6) NiMh AAA cells, this will provide 7.2V to the radio.
If you install 6 AAA Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, it will provide 9V and the radio will not go into transmit.
If you must use Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, use five of them and a dummy AAA, this will set the output voltage to 7.5V.
Note: all voltages quoted are for open circuit.
